The unknown Engine

I recently blew the engine on my 90 ST celica. It had a 1.6L 4cyl engine in it. I believe a 4aFE. I called a junkyard, and was able to get an engine from a 1993 Geo Prizm. As far as i can remember, the guy only said "it will work with your celica", in which it did. it was a direct bolt, and i have it running.

but... some i have some extra plugs on my wire harness. an orange one near the distributor, and a grey one.

I then came across a post saying that the 1993 prizm came in an "LSi" model with a 1.8L 7aFE engine in it.

how to i tell which engine i have? even though i got the engine i have working, what do these extra plugs on my harness go to? the pic below is of my new engine installed.

even though i have the engine installed and running, i would like to know what kind it is.

also, now my tranny is stuck in first gear.... its an auto. 4speed overdrive i think

any ideas? my friend mentioned a vaulve body... what the hell is that? ha

Also, i had to use my old distributor from my old engine because the new one from the yard didn't work

Somewhere on the bottom-end of the block the serial of the engine should be carved into it. I thought the serial will always start with the base-id of the engine. So it should start with 4A or 7A.

For the extra wire on the harnass I would suggest that you get a wire-diagram of the Prizm engine and find out on that diagram what the wire is there fore.
