i just baught a 2001 celica gt auto and am planning on getting a intake!
should i go with a short ram or a cold air?

Its your imagination, the engines aren't set up to take advantage of a significant difference in intake air temperature.

I bought one of those cheap(I wish) generic brand short rams(spectre I think). I didnt expect anything I could notice, but I changed my thought pattern very quickly

Cold air setups are supposed to be better(denser air and such), but I doubt it would make much difference unless u were driving something like a super gt car or other purpose built race beast.

Tests show that the stock box with a k&n is best. Stock usually is a cold air intake that you really can't improve on, except with a k&n filter.
