88 GT Power Steering problem

I just bought a 88 GT Convertible and it is like dripping power steering fluid like a mad man! Honestly not that big of a deal but how should I find out where its leaking from? How much does a new power steering pump go for? Well it dosnt need to be new. Any other common problems I should look for? It has 119k miles. Is there any easy way to see if its burning oil? Last question....yay but how would I go about getting the rear seats and front seatbelts back in the car?

A common problem for the 4th Gen Celica is the leaky power steering high pressure hose; it's usually not the PS pump. Peel back the foam sleeve and turn the ignition to "ON" Under pressure, you may see cracks and leaks that you wouldn't see if the car was turned off.

Do a search on PS pump or PS hose - I've done a few write-ups on this topic on various Celica sites and IRCC, I have links here too..

Easy way to see if it's burning oil is have get out and watch the tailpipe for blue smoke. Better yet, have someone rev it and see if it blows blue under load.

Seat belts - you simply gotta take apart the interior panels to reach the anchor bolts and don't forget to torque them to spec!

That should be enough to keep ya busy for now

Alright got the seat belts in and it dosnt seem to be burning oil although it sort of smells like it... . Atleast that what my friend says.

Got a few other questions tho
When I first turn the car on it sort of feels like its gunna die and it makes like popping noises coming from the rear tailpipe. After like 5-10 seconds it stops and runs normal.

Lol and Now my trunk wont open the white piece on the end of the cable that opens the trunk broke and now it wont open with the key or with the lever. Any ideas on that?

Last question for now - Could anyone take pictures of their trunk open? I have the lifter things ( dont know what to call them) that open the trunk and keep it open but I dont know exactly where they need to be lined up.

I appreciate the help and thanks rick for the previous help

Backfiring could be caused by fuel, spark, ignition timing; check over the basics first.

Try grabbing it with pliers or Vice grips.

Can't help you with a pic, as I have hatchbacks only. I can tell you that they are called hatch/trunk supports/struts/shocks. You may have to remove some interiors panels to access the bolt locations, I did with the hatchback.
