I'm assuming you're talking about the motor? VVTI isn't a motor....

It'll physically fit INTO the engine bay, yes.... will it be a worthwhile or doable swap without a LOT of custom fabrication knowledge? No.

2AZ-FE 161HP.
You'll need the tC tranny, ECU, fuel pump, axles, maybe wheel hubs, all wiring.
It'll be nice if you get the TRD supercharger too.

It'll cost you more then a 3S-GTE swap but you'll be special.

well yea its not a "motor" but it got your attention lol

the way i look at it you could go many ways with engines
yea ok you got the 5sfe...a lot of custom work just to get any power from it then it becomes well unreliable and lets not forget parts support
now theyrs the 3sgte ok you have to pay up the ass for shiping then you have to rebuild the dam thing pay up the ass for parts finding the parts getting them to work and you still have a cast iron engine with a fadeing market i mean you go into a dealship asking a part for a 1991 anything and they look at you crosseyed
ive seen and herd of the v6 swap but again why go with a ten year old motor i see no benifit of a v6 i mean the engine bay is cramped enough

i beleave this 2.4 is toyota's new preformance platform and the new technology and parts market will be huge

I could get a 5sfe making as much if not more power than a 2az for less money than it'll cost to get the 2az in your car and driving, but that's just me. :P

No.... but it'll easily cost you another $2000 to get the motor running and driving in your car.

I hope you pull it off, and that it's way easier than i think it's going to be, beacuse this WOULD be a swap i'd be VERY interested in.

Keep us posted!

its like that johny cash song "one pice at a time"

i was also thinking the 2.7L tacoma motor but dismissed the thought due to its size and weight and the way it normaly mounts i hear it has overkill internals and its a great tuner motor

anyone elaborate?

If someone can fit a V8 in a 90 Celica with RWD, you can do better.
I'll say Corvette or Viper engine. 800HP Celica. Or 1000HP.
