G'day guys.

My mrs Celica was randomly idling from 800 to 1300. So I got a second hand map sensor from a toyota wrecker who said it was from the same car.

Now it has a steady idle, although it is idling at 1400. The numbers on the sensor are different to the original, so should I try and get another sensor or should I try adjust the idle down?

Any help or ideas would be great.

gday again.

I bought the correct map sensor and is still revving at 1400 to 1600. I am guessing that the last mechanic wound up the idle when the map sesor broke so it wouldn't stall. Does that sound possible?
