92 celica acceleration problem

Hey, I have been having troubles with the way my car will accelerate in first gear sometimes. It will slow move even when i am flooring it sometimes ...I hear a humming noise when it does this, also it does it more often on hills. Can't figure it out...is it the transmission going? Anyone know what is going on here? Thanks

my 91 used to do that, i had a problem with the overdrive..it would go off, and be slow, unresponsive on acceleration..was living in washington, moved to california...and it went away...so...i guess one way of fixing it is move to dry hot climate. ^ ^b

i never figured out what it was, but from what i understand it could have been a cycloid on the transmission...
