84 celica

[84celica??]

hello. i am able to purchase a 1984 celica gt. i think it has a 2.2 i can pick it up for 70 bucks however, the engine dosent run and the transmisson does not have reverse. its an automatic and there is little rust exept on one fender. i was wonder if anybody could tell me how much parts are or how hard they are to find? and does anybody know where i can find body kits. or other engines would be a farily easy drop in? we have most tools and a shop. any other info or links would be apreciated as well

I can't give you prices because I'm not in America but the 22R engine is dead easy to find for cheap prices.
Likewise for the A40D transmission.
The hardest thing to fix on old Celicas is rust and trim - nearly impossible to find replacements.
Mechanical stuff is no big problem - just replace from junk yards or upgrade to more modern parts.
