2000 GT-S: Intermittent Howl/Nobby Tire Sound in Front

I had the entire front dropped on my 2000 GT-S when having the trans replaced (with LSD), brakes replaced, sways installed, etc. Since that time, while driving down the road there's an intermittent sound like I'm running over a ribbed section of road or running on nobby tires. Sometimes if I turn the wheel slightly it will stop. Sometimes if I tap the brakes it stops. It stops by itself, however, all the time. It seems to be limited to the driver's side.

I'm concerned about where the axles meet the trans, and any other joints between the trans and the wheels.

I've not taken it back because I'm not at all excited at the prospect of doing business with them again. I'm hoping there's something to look for. I'm replacing motor mounts, all the bushings, etc. very, very soon and have new wheels and tires to go on. But I want this identified and resolved first.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Bearings. The shop said they were surprised I was driving it with that much noise. I told him I was only putting just over 100 miles on it a day for my commute. *Laugh*
