4th Generation Common issues on the 4th Gen?

I was thinking about buying a 4th gen GTS from a friend of a friend of mine, who doesn't have room for two vehicles. Thought i'd register here and see what you guys have to say.
148xxx kms, for $800 CAD.

The only rust I saw was rear quarter panel (not that big), and that black metal strip right under the front window. Apparently the clutch has been replaced recently, but when I took if for a test run, pedal seemed soft, and to not grab until the pedal was quite far out. He said something about the fluid is low? That really doesn't make sense to me, so enlighten me please if you will. Also my friend who lives with him says it leaking something. I'd like to know what you guys think it is, and if I should find out before I buy it. If its nothing major, I could fix it myself. I want this car to be a winter car/practice car for body work & whatever else need to be fixed.

The info for these cars seems to be spread thinner than I thought it would be...so any links or info about these cars would be great.

Its low KMS and I could probably sell it for more if I cleaned it up a bit. Is it worth it for $800 CAD? Or should I offer lower? oh ya and its an 86

Offer him $500.
Go to www.st162.net there is a ton of info on there.
Great cars, relatively easy to work on.

A few common problems:
intermittent heater
No start/intermittent no start
rust on rear quarter panels
leaky power steering high pressure hose
power antenna failure
