Power Steering Pouring Out. HELP! - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hi Everyone,

New to the forum so forgive me if this topic has been covered many times before. I did try to search the forums but did not find much.

I have a 1990 Celica GT that is losing power steering fluid. When I fill up the car with new power steering fluid, the car is fine for about 24-36 hours until I park it for a while. Usually I'll drive it around, park it overnight and then in the morning there will be a huge puddle of steering fluid on the ground. Could this be a pump problem?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

First find out where the fluid is leaking from. It could be a cracked hose. Or disconnected hose.

I have replaced all of the power steering hoses. Sorry probably should have mentioned that first. Besides the hoses what else could it be besides the pump?

You'll have to get under the car to see where its leaking from. We can give you 100 guesses but in the end you'll have to check to find out anyway. Maybe the connection wasn't tight? Since you've changed all the hose.

yeah the connection at the rack for my pressure hose leaked when I put a new hose on, it took several tries to get it tight enough
