noises under the hood

ok so its been a while since ive asked any questions but my car is falling apart. i dont have any money to take it to a mechanic so im hoping that someone on here can help me out. first of all is my trunk, at idol the trunk rattles really bad. is there any way to tighten it up so that it is securely in place?? next is under the hood, this is really bad. at idol the hood near the windshielt (where it bolts on) rattles extremely bad. is there any way to make this tighter as well? also theres alot of rattling noise coming from under the hood, engine wise. i think it may be a valve tap but im not sure. is there any way to fix this on my own? sorry i cant provide more information but i just dont know what is wrong. i will try and provide a sound clip at a later point in time. also my brother says that it sounds like i have a mis-fire when accelerating. i didnt even notice this but he knows his shit. is there anything i can do about this as well?? thanks for any help you can give

I'm curious about the trunk fix too. My trunk rattles pretty bad when I go over a bump on the road.
