'85 the last year for RWD?

I've been doing some searching and I can't find a definitive answer. Was 85 the last year the Celica was offered in RWD or not?

What about the Supra's in the mid 90's?

In the North American market - the 4th gen Celica (1986-1989) marked the beginning of the end of the RWD layout, if you don't count the later AWD models. The previous three generations - were all FR layout.

That year also marked the "split" between the Celica and Supra into two distinct model lines. All Supra models carried the FR layout - including the MK-III (1986?-1992) and MK-IV (1993-1998).

That's really too bad. I loved driving my '84, but it was time for her to move on. I really miss the feeling of driving a RWD sports car. I've been looking at the Scion tC as it's really the only current two door coupe toyota makes. While it's not a Celica it is the spiritual successor. But I've only driven RWD and just don't like the FWD concept at all.

The Celica was RWD up to July 1985.
Here's the full list of dates for every RWD Celica model.

After that it was mostly FWD with a few 4WD models.

The Supra remained RWD for it's entire life.
Effectively the Celica and Supra split into separate model lines when the Celica went FWD.
