hi,

i own a 95 celica st w/ a 92 3sgte from an mr2. i have been having problems with it for some while now with knocking. its throwing a CEL knock sensor code.the CEL will come on as soon as it hits 1800rpm even without boosting and im running stock boost, so i figure it couldnt be due to overboosting. ive rebuilt the motor (with a .020 overbore), replaced the converted wiring harness, and just recently replaced the headgasket for the second time. one shop told my dad that my wategate actuator is bad and that is the reason why i am knocking. has anybody heard of this before? money is tight and i dont want to replace a part if i dont undrstand why it needs to be.

I dont think theres too many boosted guys in this dead ole section. I guess maybe try lurking 6gc or celicatech, both have a lot of boosted guys.
