looking to buy a toyota celica

hi i'm debbie and i found a used toyota celica gt 2005 for $6,500. I don't understand why it is priced so low. i haven't seen it yet. it is a private sale and the owner says it is clean inside and out and has never been in a accidient. it has 84000 k and the pictures look good. i would like to know if this sounds to good to be true. please advise.

to the nation, Debbie! The biggest question I'd ask the owner given the number of miles on the Celica is if it's had the timing belt changed. If not, you're going to have to do that soon and perhaps the water pump at the same time. That's a several hundred dollar repair to consider. Let me move this thread over to the Celica forum so the people there can give you better answers regarding your potential purchase.

7th gen Celicas do not have timing belts, they have a chain, so thats not an issue. the price is actually not too bad. the GT does not hold value as much as the GT-S does. especially if its an automatic. since its a 2005 it will not have the ring issue and burn oil so thats also good. I say go look at it and if you like it, get it.
