2001 toyota celica gt engine swap

i just blew up my 1.8l vvt-i and was wondering if i could replace it with a 1jz vvt-i engine and it go smoothly with no major problems.

and how do you expect to fit that inline 6 in that small engine compartment? No that is NOT a possibility! the only cost effective swap is another 1ZZ-FE or upgrade to a 2ZZ-GE.

That's what i thought. I know the motor mounts are exactly the same from the gt to the gt-s. Do you know if the headers would have to be changed or would they directly bolt on.

not all the motor mounts are the same, you will need a passenger side mount, 2ZZ wiring harness, 2ZZ ECU for the correct year, and you will also need the 2ZZ header and have to modify the down pipe. they dont line up exactly.
