Radio

ok i just bought a 1990 celica GT. and i bought a new radio for it but the way this thing is wired is really messed up, there was to plugs i pulled out of the radio, and when i did this my dome light and clock stoped working, theres a little brown, green, and a bigger blue with yellow stirp that are all giving out power.

the red yellow and black wires the one your soppused to you dont work for some odd reason

then theres 12 wires 5 big ones then 7 small ones that appear to be speacker wires, that aint counting the red yellow and black, plus another 2 wight ones that were wraped up with the red, yellow and black wires.

ok so i hooked the radio up to the small grey wire and turned it on, took the right front speak wires and tryied to match them up, nothing no sound not even a hissss.

could some one give me some help here on this bazar wireing.

thanks

I'm not too sure I know what you're talking about. Do you have the System 10 setup or the standard single DIN? If you grab the harness its dead easy, if you wanna try it without, www.installdr.com has the colour codes.

If it had the factory CD player you got atleast two amps built into the system. They are covered by the side panels in the rear passenger compartment they will need to be bypassed or your new head unit will clip like mad. Someone had already butchered the wires for my stereo before I got the car so I said F*** it and ran my wires like there was never a radio in the car:Found switched power and used it to trigger a relay in the direct power wire I ran in from the battery.tapped in front of the relay for battery constant(memory),then ran the wires from the head unit (Kenwood) to the factory speaker bypassing the amps. The factory speakers are quite good by the way. Then ran the pre amp leads, trigger wire and another direct wire to the hatch for the sub amp. an I was bumpin'.

No problems with the done light though.
