1985 22RE Turbo Build HELP ME OUT

hey hows it goin? so Im really diggin my celica. rwd is real fun! my speedo dont work tho. everything else in the gauge cluster works just not the speedo. but anyways Im gonna rebuild the stock 22re since the speedo died at 242k and I dont know how many miles its got. but anyways Im gonna be pulling the motor out and completely rebuilding it. from the pan up. but I wana boost it. Got a TurboNetics T3/T4 but I need a manifold. also looking for a rebuild kit for the motor with the right head gasket and forged pistons. Will the pistons from the 22ret fit my 22re block? also what would be recommended for the intake and cam and that stuff? I know what parts I need to buy but I dont know what sites sell them. Im used to building small block chevys...never done a toyota motor. and I know im gonna get bashed for my idea of wanting to build a 22r. but they rip for a little motor like that...my town is small and theres bunch of potholes. no place to open it up like yall guys do. so the 22r is plenty if built right and enough boost. im looking to run between 10-15psi depending on what im doing. yes full intercooler as well. I need a manifold tho so if anyone has one please let me know.

Have you checked your speedo drive gear in the tranny? It might have slipped out of place.

i havent done that yet. my fuel pump just died...at the gas pump! so i dropped the tank and so on. and hard wired the fuel pump to the battery for a sec to see if it works. and it does so i did all that for nothing...but thats 135 i dont have to worry about. so now i gotta figure out whats goin on. all fuses are good...but computer and relays im not sure of.

Sounds like either the fuel relay or the oil sender has gone.
The oil sender provides the ground for the fuel relay (a safety feature which automatically disables the fuel pump after an accident).
Buy the Haynes Celica RWD manual - it covers this subjects quite well.

Where the speedo cable screws into the back of the gauge cluster sometimes comes loose.
Tighten it up.
A bit tricky because you have to reach behind the dash and you can't see where your hand is going.
