Gen5 91 Celica GT-S engine swap

Ok guys. I recently bought a 91 celica and when I got it, it was running only on one cylinder. So I rebuilt it thinking it would have a pretty decent amount of power.. I was impressed that I rebuilt the 5sfe engine and it actually ran.. (BUT) it really doesn't have the power I want.

Case in point I want a faster car and am willing to spend the money to do it all i need to know is what would be the best engine to swap the 5sfe with. I saw a post of a guy that swapped it for the 3vzfe V6 and it seemed like the best idea. What is the opinion of everyone here of the best engine to swap it with?

Thanks for any Ideas

Jade

its all dependant upon what you are willing to spend, how confident are you on custom work and what you want.

3sge
3sgte
1mz
3vz

being the usual suspects

the latter two require much more fabrication and research. the S engines allow them to be dropped in but of course there's wiring and of course all the little things you'll find when you actually put them in. search around some, you can easily find specs on these engines and people who've swapped them. the V6 swap is more common on mr2s but is feasible.

go with the 3sgte very nice stock extremly easy to work with and massive parts to build up plus its a celica at that a 91 gts same i used to have, do the 3s with a slightlty bigger turbo and a nice frontmount and some odds and ends like header exhaust u get the icture lol the only thing u will be complaining about then is that the front wheels wont hook up with the groound they will just spin :-D
