i need help with high beam indicator issue on the speedometer cluster

Hi, I would like to figure out if this is a problem or a standard feature. First, I have a 2001 Toyota Celica GT 5 speed manual.

During the day, when I start my car and put down the hand brake, my high beam light indicator on the speedometer cluster will turn on. My high beams are NOT on and both the high beam and headlight switches are on the off position.

However, if I turn the headlights on, the high beam indicator turns off and functions normally; meaning it goes on and off whenever I use the high beams.

The high beam indicator doesn't have this weird problem when it's dark since my headlights turn on automatically as soon as I put down the hand brake.

Is this a problem and can I fix it or is it a feature that I'm not aware of? If it can be fixed, how do I do it?

Update:
Found out this was a feature of the DRL and got it disabled with one wire!
