Replacing mirrors?

So I DEFINITELY need some better mirrors for my car. I'm used to having a big car and these mirrors aren't cutting it.

Can anyone tell me, is there a specific part I should be looking for or is it just 'if it fits, use it'?

I have no idea, and I don't intend to be able to replace the mirrors for a few months, but those will probably be my first and biggest priority. Along with replacing the windshield and the rear-view mirror, haha. I'm not looking to race or have my car really modified, I just need some bigger side-view mirrors!

Tyia.

Thumbs down

Well if that's your priority get some trailer mirrors and slap them on.

So because my priority isn't to race this car that obviously means I'm unworthy of real advice?

Thanks, that is awesome. I'd like to be able to see behind my car so I don't hurt the kids I transport in it, but if you really want to be an asshole I'm sure I can figure it out myself.

I figured I would ask somewhere that people knew what they were talking about, but apparently all that does is get unwanted criticism (unvoiced, of course) because I don't choose to drift or race my car.

I don't need TRAILER mirrors. I needed to know if I could actually take off the mirrors I had and put some on that are a little bit bigger, so I can see better.

I didn't say anything about racing or drifting priorities - that's your (incorrect) assumption.
I gave you a short response b/c what you asked was silly and you didn't even bother to list the year of your vehicle. We can't tell you if we don't know what generation Celica you have. It's probably moot anyways, as there's nothing that will bolt up directly without looking like crap. There are possibly a few exceptions, but they are rare and side mirrors are mostly vehicle specific.

And if you continue to use profanity and call me names, you'll find yourself quickly banned.

Gen5

Children, children, pleeeeaaasssee.

You're going to find a lot of dry humor and sarcasm on here, no need to get your panties in a twist. It's just like a cat drinkin' milk.

I should probably show you what I did for my 5th Gen. Celica (90-93). My friend owned a Celi years ago and the brittle plastic mirrors had a tendency to crack and break off. Not wanting to have them snapped off in my narrow city parking space, I replaced them with some nice folding ones. I snagged my new ones off a 6th Gen. at a junkyard. Took a little wiring and I had to drill two new holes in the door, but they work nicely and look stock.

If you ask politely, I might even show you a photo of them...

Let's keep cool boys - everybody has different priorities.

Can you tell us which model and year you have?
Maybe something will fit - maybe it won't.

There are lots of aftermarket rearview clip on mirrors. Just go shopping in China town. There is not much you can do to get bigger side mirror.

3rd Generation

I would love to see what you did, if possible. :P That would be fantastic.

It isn't just about size, as I'm becoming quite adjusted to the mirrors. I like to be able to see the side of my car, and the mirrors are electric and don't move in close enough. I guess I probably won't be able to do much, since they're electric. But it would be nice if I could, anyhow.

I suppose I should've mentioned they're electric. I HAD thought I included the year of my car, but since I apparently didn't- it is an 85 GT hatchback.

I always get the US model years mixed up but I think you have a RWD RA64 GT with door mirrors integrated in to the door sail panel.
I don't know of anything that is a simple replacement for them.
