hey i love the forum i have a 1990 celica gt with the 2.2 5sgte motor i have 241000 on the original block but i have a rebuilt motor i have crane cams turbo gts springs valves lifters, getting new rods roller and pistons soon i would like to know if the turbo from a 5sfe motor would fit my car would a i need a different exhaust manifold and would it need to be a ct26 turbo from a turbo mr2

ok hold on you have a 2.2 5sgte in your car already?!?! i have not heard of that one. unless you put a ge head on your 5sfe and then put a turbo on it... and that would make it a 5sgte. your 1990 gt celica comes with a 5sfe engine stock, and that engine does not have a stock turbo on it. i think you got your facts a lil mixed up but if you would like to know there is a turbo for your engine at this website. eveno though most ppl think its not worth the bucks!

the car i have has a 5sgte motor the motor type is imprinted on the engine sticker and also on the side of the block i will recheck it tommorow to be 100% sure

my bad man you are so right i was getting the 3sgte and the 5sfe motor mixed up still one question is the turbo worth it

turbonetixs, this topic has been covered a few times before. Do a search in the Camry forum as well as this one for Turbo or 3SGTE and you'll find the info you need.

but just for a little summary on what most of the threads will end up saying is that if you are willing to spend that much money and get those results you should push a lil more money and get a much better engine that is more reliable and faster and yadda yadda

im gonna get a 3sgte head and put it on my block to complete the "5sgte" im also gonna get a custiom made turbo kit with the top mount intercooler and a gt4 hood im hoping to get sponsored by the place one of my freinds works at so ill only have to pay for labor "i hope i get it"
