84 celica GTS: turbo vs swap
Hey, I was posting with this other forum but this form is more about performance and that is what I am after. I've been trying to sell my mint condition 84 celica GTS all winter but no one buys sprots cars in alberta in the winter. I wanted to buy a 87 supra turbo for $8000 CDN but I am going to school soon so I would like to not spend 8G. So I have decided to keep my 84 celica and make it a custom turbo manifold and fudge something together (that would be a 22re-t) or I have been thinking of swaping the engine.... I havn't had my stock 22re compresion tested yet and it does have 290000 kilometers on it so i would imagen it would need to be rebuilt if I was to slap a big turbo on and boost it up. And some guy recomended that i swap in a Honda VTEC v6??? I laughed at first but then I thought it would be a cool idea IF it would work. Tell me what you think guys
