st185 clutch starter/safety switch?

For a 1990 celica all trac. Have to ride the clutch for it not to die. If I let the clutch out in first it will die, second gear it will lurch violently, 3rd and 4rth are better but same problem.

Think maybe the clutch safety switch is killing ignition while driving. Cant find anything on it the chiltons (big surprise) and did some keyword searches here.

Does anyone know where it is and any info on it?

Thanks

Clutch safety switch is at the bottom of the pedal for starting the car only, but there is another sensor on that cable somewhere for the cruise control, other than that I think that is it for sensors.

Not sure what your problem is, but it sounds like there may be a problem with the clutch, transmission or driveaxle binding or may be as simple as the brakes sticking.
