1990 GTS Hi NOX Japan Take out!
Hi All, Daughter came back from College with Aunts GTS. While at school, and after I fed it a clutch, she pitched a Rod on 5S-FE. So For Xmas we fed it a Take out motor, looks just like 5S-FE. They reused her Intake and Exhaust and so on. Said it was a 2000 cc motor. This month, after a year of operating, I went to Smog it and it failed with high NOX. I manually tickle the EGR and No stumble. I disconnect the Hard line from the block to the EGR and no gases flow. I have reinstalled the Hardline and soaked it in Marvel Mystery oil and then Acetone. No difference. I san stick a Coat hanger in the hole in the block and it comes out clean.
How do you clean the EGR passage to the Exhaust side of the motor or did I get a Special one without he EGR drilled? Any thought or suggestions I'm apprecative of. Or ways to Identify what she was sold.
