changing my FWD to a RWD

hello my name is Mik.

I have a question about my 1990 toyota celica gt 1.6 litre 5 speed.
I would like to convert this front wheel drive car into a rear wheel drive.
I know that the 86 - 89 celica's were rear wheel drive. I was wondering if i could take like the drive axle from one of those 86- 89 celica and change it on my 90 celica gt and make it a rear wheel drive. I was just wondering if i can basically make it into one or do i just have to buy a rear wheel drive car, cause I want to drive drifting in this car as well. any pointers on what i should would be much appreciated.

thank you

The 86-89 celicas were not RWD. Most were FWD, with the alltrac model being 4WD, but the last RWD celica was the 3rd gens, ending in 1985.

There have been attempted 4WD conversions, some have worked but involved welding in a new floor pan in the back of the car.

Honestly, 99% of the time this would turn out to be a major hack job and severly impact the structural stability of the car. I'd say, buy a different car.

btw, if you have a GT it should be the 2.2L 5SFE, the ST is the 1.6L 4AFE
