ECT Sensor?

Hi guys,

I have a 2004 Celica that I have a question about. The other day I was driving home and the engine temperature gauge pegged like it was overheating. I pulled over and looked under the hood and there was no sign of overheating...(to my limited knowledge)....I noticed also that the temperature was reading at about 130 degrees. I restarted the car and the gauge went back to normal.

Since there was no evidence that my car was really overheating I decided to continue to drive it. It has been a week and there has been no ill effects. The only thing that is odd is that the temperature gauge reads something like 380 degrees now. I let my car sit for over 24 hours and it never drops. I am thinking that a sensor is bad. Possibly the ECT sensor?

Where can I find a manual or some place that will tell me how to find the ECT? Is this what you would look for?
Thanks so much.
-Peter
