Using a Jet Black Quart of Paint from the Auto Parts store 25$.. Some Sand Paper.. My Dads Air Gun and Compressor.. plus a sh** load of news paper... Turned out Pretty Sweet, for a do it yourself job
Oh, did i mention i was 17 years old lmk what you think
I was debating trying that to my old corolla. first the hood, then decided to on the whole car. Too bad she's gone now... anyway I was curious to how an amateur paint job would come out.
why does everybody do PRIMER black for that carbon fiber look its called being rice, i hate when people do this cause it ruins the car.
and befor anyone says anything i dont blame him i blame his generation I thought the fast and the furious gen. was losing its touch but its not.
this is one of the most uncool "mods" you can do to a car, it just proves that tuners will nvr rise above ricers. they will always be classed with them due the medias idea of "fast"
that is my rant about this subject, and if you want to argue it with me i have no problem with you sending me a pm

I would argue that this isn't the normal ricer primer job dude.
It wasn't with a rattle can, the coat looks even, although I think it probably would look better if it maybe had some clear on it.
also the black hood thing dates back to muscle car era
I know like I said I'm not raging on him, its the idea.
and yes they did do that to muscle cars but back then they wernt doing it to make it look like cf, now days thats the point of a primer hood/trunk/gas lid/spoiler.
the other prob. with it is that peole have a beautiful paint job, but then they go and sand the hood down and paint it primer. why would you ruin a good paint job to have a primer black hood but to make it look like it is cf

its not a primer, its not spray painted either, i used the regular paint they use to paint cars with, i used a compresser and the spray gun aswell, you should see it in person.. im just too lazy to take a picture with a good camera.. >.< i painted the hood jet black, the sun roff black, the hub-caps black, tinted the back lights and blacked out the toyota symbol black.. looks raww
I'm sorry but not really it looks like youre trying to be fast without being fast all it needs is the 4.5in exhaust with no cat. and its on a civic level.
I will say 1 good thing tho it is nice that you actualy put some quality time into it whit using a gun and paint not just spray paint
also i forgot to mention this the reason they did that on muscle cars was because they where so hot they burnt the paint causeing the paint to faid/chip thats y they rolled around in primer black hoods, any car now days is not doing to have enough heat to need a black hood, people just want it to look like cf

I have heard from a few enthusiasts (and I do mean OLDER enthusiasts) that the flat black is actually from the muscle car days spent in sunny california. Just a simple solution for sun glare.
i do i a 4.5 inch exhaust lol takee a look.. its an old pic when i got my car, its b4 i tinted the lights but w.e, btw for some awesome strange reason, when i pass 5000 rpm the exhaust starts to whistlee.. anyone explain exactly why it does that ??
Thats something i prob. not admit
after 5000rpm's you r sucking in alot of air and pushing out alot of air causing the air to whistle.
just a question but when you take off/racing what rpm's are u at

My civic had a black hood... until i painted it white ha ha, but yours looks good. i dont agree entirely with the "trying to look fast when not actually" thing... its all personal taste... hell i have done a few things to my civic for no reason then they looked good to me (and i needed marks in automotives.....) but to each their own right? glad to see more people my age putting time into their vehicles.
I think it looks pretty nice. If every 19 year old wigger and his friends had Japanese cars with black hood I definitely wouldn't want to partake. I'm also not a fan of Japanese cars, but I have one because I got a good deal and it runs nice. And the hood is all chipped from stones. Seeing a Camry/Civic, etc., around here is pretty rare. Never seen one around here with a black hood. I might be the first! And yes, I'd add the clear coat!

Not my choice, but that's why you're 17.
I was going to say that.
Being in Miami, it does have purpose I suppose.... even if it's not the one he was looking for.
Unfortunately, it does look like he is going ricer. That exhaust is too large to be effective for a N/A car.
Oh well.
I hate that attitude... I see it a lot in the parts buisness and it's rather irritating. I get a lot of guys that come in with turbo base model civics thinking they are hot shit and talking down to customers who have cars setup properly for cornering and don't have their money wasted on simple "go fast in a straight line" ideals. I've beaten many "American Muscle heads" with their SC and turbo muscle cars in my old 5S-FE Camry. Sure they would take off at the beginning, but as soon as the corner came up, they had to slow down. I didn't and thats how I won. Races are won and lost in the corners and having a proper suspension will determine how well your cars HP is applied, and how well it can handle corners.
Japanese cars are not intended for drag... Not unless you buy Japanese muscle... but even then, they have a solid suspension setup to back it up. Most youth want to go fast and think putting a huge muffler, big rims, and body kits will help them.
But everyone went through the "toy car" faze at some point... ...some just act on it instead of just dreaming.
