would you buy a 01 GTS with 210K miles?

I always wanted to get another Celica, I owned an 82 GT and 94 GTS. I came across a 2001 GTS 6 sp. with very high mileage at 210,000. I haven't gone to view it but the dude states that it runs excellent. Would anyone recommend it with such mileage if it was only for $3K?

if i were you i would keep shopping around. 210,000 miles is alot and parts arnt cheap for this car. It all depends on what your gunna be doing with it. if you do end up buying, rebuilding the engine and tranni is an almost must after 200,000 miles and your gunna spend more money doing that than buying one for 7k with 90,000 miles.

that is pure crap!

do a compression test. if you are over 200psi in each cylinder you are fine! and parts for the 7th gen are no more $$ than any other car.

i say go for it! the GT-S 6 speed is the best.

are you an F-ING idiot the 2zz does NOT have a comp. of higher then 200psi, you need to stop giving people wrong info, I also saw you said that the 1zz is NON interference, when everyone knows it is.

the 2ZZ should have compression over 200 psi thats not the same thing as the 11.5:1 compression that it has. and i know what i said about the 1ZZ being non interferance. that was my mistake the 2ZZ is.

but before you start jumping down my gut for wrong info, reconize who you are talking to. nobody knows the 7th gen celica more than i do....NOBODY!!!!!

at those miles with a 6spd...if its been driven hard the trans is probably just about done for. but hell, other than preventively changing the timing chain and oil pump gears you'll have a good running engine. theres 2zz's with over 250k miles.
