Gen1 Changeing engines...18R to 22RE

*

I’m restoring my 1974 and I’m thinking of taking my 18R out and putting in a 22RE. I think the only thing I have to change to make this fit would be the oil pan? Is the 80’s truck 2WD what I need? My 74 bell housing fits perfect to the RE block. I would have to drill the two dowels to make it fit. Also would my 74 hood close over that? I know the 75’s have the raised hood to accommodate its height but that might be because of the stock carb/air?

Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks
