gen 7 Stock '00 GTS 6 Speed Tires/intake/suspension

Just bought my first Toyota, been doing a ton of reading but still much more to go, figured it was about time to ask some questions. It's an 2000 GTS 100k Miles, completely stock, has spectacular maintenance history.

It does need tires and an alignment right away. Figured I'd might as well do shocks and springs before I drop it off for the alignment. Probably going to order Tokohama ES100 205/50/R16's from Tirerack since they have them on clearance for $59. Considered ordering Enkei Racing RS-M's too, but think I'll hold off for now. Couldn't find anything good on alternative tire sizes for stock wheels, I ran ES100 225/50/R16s on my RSX, which worked out great but not sure if the Celica would agree.

Any suggestions on shocks/springs? Just want to lower it a bit, but it'll be my daily too, so not too low or too stiff.

Intake? Prefer to stay away from CAI, any good options that don't include a shiny metal tube to help keep your engine bay cooler? Or is the Injen SRI the only option?

Headers/Exhaust? Thinking about going with the TRD exhaust, tho I haven't read up on it too much...

Lastly, strut, sway bars, TRD short shifter, head unit and speakers. Haven't really started the researching but these are usually pretty straight forward.

Is there any options to have lift kick in earlier? IIRC the RSX iVTech lift is at 5200 RPM and much more aggressive than the GTS.

Basically that's about all I intend to do with the car, unless there are other worthwhile things that should be done I've missed. With 100k miles I don't want to do forced induction, just keep it NA, breathing better and corner better.

My last car was a G35, every couple HP cost a small fortune... Tires were 1200 a set about once a year and it weighs half a ton more than the Celica. Worst car I ever owned! Had 2 RSX Type S 's before the G35, should have never sold em, but the Celica is a great alternative.

Here's info on springs rates as well as amount of drop. I hear a lot of people own KYB AGX's for the shocks.

Sway bars - Hotckis

Intake manifold done by Boosted 2.0 over on Newcelica dot org.

Short shifter comparison.

You may want to drain and fill the 6 speed gear oil. I've read a lot of Celica owners switching out to Redline MT-90.

Good luck!
Eric.

do a search on newcelica.org for lift bolts. there are 2 small bolts in the head that will break on the 2000 GT-S and prevent Lift from activating. if yours have not been replaced, im 100% sure they are broken, lift might work but it will eventually fail. DONT WORRY this is not bad. your car will run fine forever this way, but you will not have the full 8000 RPM's fixing the broken bolt is not an easy job for the average person. i can do it in a few hours now since i have done so many.
