You can use this chart to see if the size 34 will physically fit where the 35 goes. Check it out.

Thanks for the chart - one more question if you don't mind? Is that the only thing that matters is if it will fit or not? Or does Cca matter as well etc. Thanks so much

As far as I know, they all have enough cranking amps. The difference is what your winter temperatures are. If you're in an area that gets below freezing alot, I would get one with high Cranking Amps

Yes, your primary concern is whether the battery will fit in the space provided in your engine compartment, and the next concern like MR2Jedi mentioned is to get more cold cranking amps if you live in a place where temperatures drop below freezing. Buying one is a no brainer going to places like Pep Boys or wherever where the store clerk will show you a list of batteries available in the size you want and how many CCAs they have. Your only other concern when you purchase is to make sure your battery is fresh by checking the manufacturing stamp on the top or side of the battery (depends on brand). Do a quick Google search for how to read the date stamp on a battery.

You know, Russ, you're right. I ought to add that to the Highlander stickies at least....

Ok great thanks so much I think I got it -- Basically if its not to tall/high making sure the hood will close and its a top post I should be ok. Right now here in KS were are having blizzards -- so the higher cranking amps I am sure I need. Thank you all so much you've been VERY helpful!!
