Celica problems..please help me!! =(

I have a toyota celica 94 ST 1.8. Two days ago when ever I start the car i hear this stuttering noise in the engine and if I look at the engine it is shaking. This morning it started ok but same thing, but this time acceleration was really bad, as if it was losing power. Then after church I started the car again, at the traffic light I couldn't accelerate as much, my speed was at 20km and thats it good thing I made it home. So I googled it and everyone said it was might the plug wires and the distributor cap and rotor. So I replaced all of them, by the way I replace my plugs just a few months ago. I followed the right firing order. Now I CAN'T START THE CAR. It would crank, I even checked the timing belt if it was working and it was fine. Now I'm stuck does anyone have an idea what else could be the problem? Sorry for the long post. You can email me as well at senoritopapi@hotmail.com...Thanks I would really appreciate everyone's help

timing belt was my problem

the timing belt can slip a couple of teeth and make your car run like it is really sick....it is not all that easy to check unless you are really fast at it... but lining the belt up will probably fix your problem so check again.... I had to reset my timing twice and took the long way but it runs really strong now and glad I did it right instead of trying to do like the book.... to line crank, use the timing marks on the harmonic balancer with the cover marking for the crank, set dead center, (and the cam mine has a pin hole that I use a small allen wrench to stick in the gear to the engine and line it up,, or what ever makes the cam (right on) the mark on yours, and... get the belt tight right...yeah tight right...that was where I went wrong....and it will run like a tiger.... to do it right and maybe not happen again is get all new timing belt and tensioner or drive a little more careful. If this doesnt do the trick it has to be with the distributor but I have not had a problem with mine except leaking oil....mine took about all day saturday , yeah the 1st , happy new year....and good luck
