I have a 1987 Toyota Celuca GT Auto.It seems the colder it gets the harder it is to start.I bought a new battery last week. But still does it when I turn over the key you here the starter engague but doesnt turn over, lights and all etc comes on.Once you get it started it will turn over all the time no problem just if it gets colder and sits long just very hard to start anyone got any ideals.

Check battery cables and terminals (including ground point) for contact and corrosion, include the ground cable between the chassis and engine.

The starter solenoid terminals can wear with usage and result in poor electrical contact.

Might be a starter motor going bad.

The most likely issues are corroded or bad cable terminal connections (due to corrosion) or the solenoid contacts.

so, when its cold the starter is turning the engine but it just takes longer for the engine to actually start running right? or is it that the starter itself takes longer to start turning the engine?

If the cable connections are fine, that'd point me towards the starter motor.
