3SGTE Motor, MR2 Tranny, Complete Wiring Harness,ECU

What do you think of this. I went to a shop and they offered me $1400CN for a 2nd Gen. 3sgte Engine with an MR2 Tranny, Complete Wiring Harness and the ECU for my 91 Celica GT-S. Is that a good price? I already have a front clip of a 98 Celica GT-4 3rd gen. 3sgte but if this is cheaper to do than I'll end up with this setup. Let me know.

Dave

WTF! No seriously where you when I was buying my MR2 tranny? When your done with that lucky charm you wanna pass it on over to me.

I dont even know why you are asking such a question, I payed twice that amount just for my tranny alone. What are you still doing here go get that shiz.

The MR2 motor and tranny is a better application for your vehicle. It is a bolt in affair, no need to seperate anything. The only thing that you will need to do is extend the wiring harness and get custom hybrid axle shafts - like me - but dont worry its not as hard as it sounds, I'll help you. You may also need to upgrade your fuel pump as well. BTW is it a clip, and what year is it?

The GT4 clip is the better motor but it is also more difficult to install. You would still need to source an MR2 tranny and custom axle shafts, probablly extend the wiring harness as well. This would require spliting the motor from the tranny, seeing how you wouldn't be able to use it. The hp that it produces will by far be to much for a FF daily driven vehicle. That front clip would be better suited for a GT4.

To give you some examples my motor alone is expected to make over 250hp and I know I wont be able to put it all down even with my LSD. My Corrado makes 200whp and I still cant put it all down without spinning the tires out right into third sometimes. I'd be happy to give you a ride sometime.

Summer is fast approaching my friend, my Corrado is done, my Celica needs to go to a body shop. You should come by and see it so you can get an idea of how involed it is. I'd be more than willing to help you out if you plan on doing the swap, you just need to get that POS out of the garage! Dave give me a call and I can help you get rid of that thing and you can come over and check out my GT2.

-Danny

Does the gear selector from the alltrac tranny fit into the MR2 tranny and operate all the gears? If not, does the original celica's selector fit?

No doubt Danny...I;m running into some serious luck!oh yeah, it's not a front clip but that wouldn't be much of a problem. I was just worried about the MR2 tranny since it was made for a rear motor setup and I knew that something would have to be done with the axle shafts. Yeah yeah...summer is hitting. I'll have the motor in once the weather gets better and when my 5sfe starts giving up on me. I appreicaite your help bro and I'll let you know when things actually get around. One day I'll cheack out your GT2. Thanks.
