1990 celica axle prob.

Hello, I have purchased 1990 celica GTS, 5 speed, when I got it the seller told me it needed the passenger side shaft, he already bought it, just needed to be put on. Anyway I started putting it on & in the middle of the shaft there is a bearing that goes through a bracket & it looks like there is something missing, because the hole is larger than the bearing attached to the shaft, like there should be a bushing in there, can anyone help? Tell me what that bracket is called or if it can be replaced. (It's like a carrier bearing)All help Greatly Appreciated!

Below is a diagram showing your front drive axles. The diagram is for a 1993 Celica GT, but I think your 1990 is identical.

Notice that there is a center bearing case, which is between the center bearing and the center bearing bracket. From what you described, it sounds to me like you are missing the center bearing case, and possibly a dust cover.

I think with this diagram, you will be able to easily determine what parts you are missing.
