Proud new father of a 1995 celica. Tips?

Hey all this is my first post, i am the new owner of a 1995 celica with 137k miles on it, after reading the repair manual (pretty dry) im not really sure what i should do besides change the oil in terms of maintenance. The previous owner changed the timing belt and water pump, any tips?

well if the previous owner changed the timing belt water pump, then you should be good on major maintanence for a while. I guess just take a look at the spark plugs, wires, cap (just to see their condition), and take a ride and listen for bumps, sounds, noises etc. Does the suspension feel firm? and does she track straight down the road? How are the gear changes?

Just kind of a general list for most vehicles but a good starting point.

The only thing in general I can add to what Rob suggested is to test the coolant,
Check belts for cracks/ fraying, , check all fluid levels and look possble leaks in those areas..
