91 celica gt with 3sgte swapped into it. Wiring questions

Ok so my friend just picked up this 91 celica gt with a 3sgte swap in it but it is currently not running but does crank. He told me the guy coudln't get the wiring right. Apparently it's a "jdm motor" and he has all of these receipts from it. I have not yet seen the motor only the pictures from the craigslist ad. Here is that http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/1608703244.html
He picked the car up for like 700 bucks so it seems like a good deal.

Basically my question is for you guys is what all is involved as far as wiring goes on these cars for this swap? I'm morei nto nissans and have done sr20 swaps, and ka24e to ka24de swaps and stuff like that. But am unfamiliar with the toyota swaps. Also can anybody tell from looking at the picture what year this might be out of and if you've possibly got a link to the ecu pinouts and things of that nature.
Any help is appreciated.
thank you

Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like it's missing some IC piping.
In particular, the piping that comes off the turbo compressor that goes to the IC and the pipe that hooks up to the throttle body inlet.
A JDM wiring harness would be the way to go.

Yeah i noticed all of the missing things in the picture but my friend says that all of that stuff is in the hatch.
Another question i had is that the guy who sold it to him claims it has a "chipped ecu" and a "performance air flow meter" Wondering who chips these ecu's and how to verify it's a real on, and what air flow meters do these cars use as an upgrade generally?

IF it has a chipped ECU, it's worthless.
As far as a performance AFM, never heard of one. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but the AFM's only function is to measure air flow and tell the ECU how much fuel to send. The only upgrade you could do to it is to make it send ALITTLE more fuel-which in itself is pointless unless you have a biiger, aftermarket turbo. The only upgrade for measuring the air flow is to remove the AFM and use some type engine management electronics such as Greddy Emanage or Hydra Nemesis, etc.
The 3sgte runs rich as it is, as intended by Toyota.
Sounds like this car may end up being more trouble that it's worth-unless you have the time and money to make it right.
In the end, it really depends on what it worth to you and how far and how much are you willing to put into it.

Well it's all really not that big of a deal. I mean everything is there, it's just that apparently morons owned the car before and cut up a lot of the wiring. Wiring is the least of the worries. We just want to make sure we have all of the right stuff, and start putting it together. He's just planning on running it stock anyways. Stock boost, turbo etc. If needed he's gonna try and source a harness.
The car was only 750 bucks anyways. And really it's not horrible. Just we are unfamiliar with the car at the moment.

Understood.
If you guys decide to scrap the project, you can make twice that parting it out.
Good luck and I hope you'll keep us posted on your progress.

Ok well i just got back from taking a look at it, and it seems the guy lied to him about it being a "jdm imported motor" Because i was looking at the receipt he gave him for the motor, and the phone number and address didn't match, and the jdm canada or whatever wasn't coming up at all on google.

So i'm starting to think it's not a jdm one at all, and possibly an mr2 motor or something along those lines. It has the starter right up on the front next to the turbo but none of the pictures i'm bringing up show the starter in that location. Are there any stampings and such on the motor so that you can tell exactly what it's out of and whatnot?
