Basic How to: Engine-Crank no start(Fuel Injected vehicles)

I will start of with the basic steps that anyone can do in their drive-way.
NOTE: THIS IS FOR ANY VEHICLE WITH DISTRIBUTOR.
NOTE: WHEN CRANKING NEVER EXCEDE 10 SEC. OF CRANKING AND ALWAYS KEEP YOU BATTERY FROM GOING LOW.

I will be covering Fuel and Ignition.

FUEL
Step 1:Check fuel pressure, there will be a relief valve located on the fuel rail(looks like a tire pressure valve), press the valve till no more fuel squirts out.

Step 2:Crank the engine over for about 5 seconds, and recheck the valve.
-If fuel then move to Step 1 of Ignition. If no fuel then move to Step 3 of Fuel.

(Step 3 best done with 2 people, BUT is able for 1 person)
Step 3:Checking furl pump, Turn the key to the off position, wait 5-10 seconds then turn the key too the ON position, If you hear a whine then your fuel pump is working and you can move to Step 1 of Ignition. If you do not hear a whine ask a friend and or relative to slide under the car to hear for the whine as you crank the engine.
-If no sound then check for voltage at fuel pump(refer to manual)

Step 4: Checking fuel injectors, There are 2 ways to do this. Part A is not covered fully. Part A&B requires 2 people
A: Use voltage meter and or injector nodes(can be found at local automotive store)
B: Take a flat head screw drive, place the tip on the injector, then place your ear on the handle and listen for a very fast ticking noise.
-If you hear this noise on all injectors then your injectors are in working order. If no sound move to Step 4 of Ignitions.

IGNITION
Step 1: Check for spark, easiest way to do this is remove the spark plugs, insert them back into the wires and place the threads of the plugs onto a grounding point.(DO THIS PROCESS 1 PLUG AT A TIME)
Good Grounding points: Valve cover, Strut bolts, Exhaust manifold.
-If you have spark move on to Step 1 of Intake(Not covered in this How to). If no spark move on to Step 2 of Ignition.

Step 2: Check wires, There are 2 ways of doing this.
A: Use a volt meter.
B: Take a screw driver, place the tip in the wire and hold the screw driver close to a grounding point.(MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT TOUCHING A GROUND POINT AND NOT TOUCHING THE METAL OF THE SCREW DRIVER)
-If you have spark move to Step 1 of Intake(Not covered in this How to). If no spark move to Step 3 of Ignition.

(Step 3 is for separate ignition coil)
Step 3: Check Ignition, There are 2 ways of doing this.
A: Use a volt meter.
B: Remove the ignition wire from the distributor, place wire connection close to the hole it was removed from and crank the engine.
-If you have spark then move to Step 1 of Intake(Not covered in this How to). If no spark then move to Step 4 of Ignition.

Step 4: Check fuses.(This is self explanatory)

If all is in working order please contact your nearest automotive shop and or parts place for further assistance.
