gen 7 Xenon lights

I found this set of lights on Ebay and was wondering if they would work on my 2001 celica gt.

http:///cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-Xenon-Light-Bulb-Toyota-Celica-2000-2001-2002-2003_W0QQitemZ180343308098QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotor s_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item29fd4c7f42

I don't have much experience with lights, so I don't know if these lights are good or not. I don't want to pay for a HID upgrade, and don't really need HIDs. Are these lights something it would be worth putting on my car? Would they last as long as the stock lights? It says I can do a direct replacement of the stock lights. How hard would it be to replace the lights? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Wow, like most ebay ads, it is very misleading. I hate the fact there are companys that make a product that label them as xenon and HID but are simple replacements that are maybe a bit brighter.

The bulbs would fit they are just a blueish white 9005 and h7 bulb.

Before I would buy those, I would buy a brighter bulb from a more reputable company. You can find Sylvania silverstars (or silverstar ultras) locally. Also some stores carry Hella lighting, or you can order osram bulbs (another name usually thrown around, although I have no experience with these)

As for the life, they usually do die quicker than stock bulbs, but I have no figures on how long.

Replacing the headlights are not very difficult, but IIRC the fogs are difficult to replace without removing the front bumper (which isn't a very big deal for the 7th gens)

edit: its late, I for some reason confused the h7s with the h3s for fog lights. disregard what I siad about foglight replacement.

Thanks for the reply. I did some more research, and looked at sylvania silverstars, but read a lot of reviews that they have a short life. So I might just stick with the lights I have.

If you want a brighter/whiter light, you need these:

nighthawk are good, but if you want bright high beams then you'll want 9011 bulbs.

for low beams the philips x-treme +80 are about as good as it gets.

bulbs like those on ebay are a waste unless you go FULL HID. REAL HID I MEAN.

IMHO HIDs (unless done absolutely correctly) are a complete waste.
