Hi

I have bought a 3S-GTE to swap into my 2WD GT. However it did not come with the ECU and I am trying to track down the correct ECU for it.

I have an engine Serial Number of 9095977 on the 3S-GTE. I know it is a 2nd Gen engine form the look of it

Is anyone able to tell me what year this is from as there are 3 different ECUs in this time frame?

My local Toyota dealer is not being very helpful...

If your putting it in a 90-93 Celica then you'll need the MR2 Turbo or Celica Turbo All-Trac ECU. To be safe just get the ECU that is correspond to your car.

The problem is Toyota released 3 different ECUs for the 3S-GTE engine in that time frame... does it matter which one I use or will any 2nd gen 3S-GTE ecu work?
