Beams VVT-i 3S-GE

what model, yr did them 'Beams vvti 3SGE motor came from'? Before I said that I was thinking about doing a H22 swap but now been looking hard on these 3sge motors. correct me if I'm wrong..are these 6spd and fit 90-93 celica?

1997.
There were 2 Models-the earlier model was the "red top" and the later, "the blacktop"

The 1st version had VVT-i and produced 197 bhp . It came in few models sold only in Japan - the MR2 G , the Celica ST202 SS-II and SS-III and the Caldina.

In 2nd version came in 1998 a with dual VVT-i ,titanium valves, and a higher compression ratio -11:1 instead of 10.5:1. 207bhp

Well its listed as being a 5 speed, so I honestly cant weigh in on that. As far as I know they were sold only in Japan in a few special celicas, mr2s, caldinas, rav4s, and altezzas after 97ish.

Being an s series engine yes they'll fit. Wiring will be the tough part.

Edit: jedi is much more knowledgable. just look up lol

Reason for it being so hard is that not much people work on the Beams and parts are hard to get. If you get a complete swap with harness and and all it'll be just as easy as a Honda.

You might want to make sure the one you get comes with an ecu cause you WILL need the proper ecu(3sge BEAMS)
the ebay one there doesnt
