Gen5 Quick Engine Removal Question

I can't find my shop manuals, so I have been doing this all from experience...

Really quick, on a 5SFE Automatic in 92' GT, can I disconnect the auto tranny from the block and lift the block out without touching the drive-axles or removing the tranny from the engine bay? I know the manual talks about pulling the axles and lifting both the block and tranny out, I just wanted to know if there is enough tolerance in the bay to pull the block to the left and lift without pulling the tranny as well.

Everything is pulled aside for the bell housing bolts, just wanted to know if I could save some time.
Thanks!

I believe its possible but easier to pull the tranny also.
I cheat and open CV boot and pull the joins apart.

I guess I am just unbelieving in how the tranny clears the upper right mount. Thanks!

It won't. You have to till the engine with tranny side down.
