Question how to aim windshield washer nozzles?

Any one know the proper way to aim the windshield washer nozzles? I got a new pair to replace my old ones clogged with wax I believe, but they are both shooting a little too high. Heard from somewhere that I can stuck a pin right into the hole to aim. Thanks in advance.
