Aesthetically, it's too over the top for an old fossil like me

But for $25 each it's a cheap thing to experiment on.
In the first photo I can see straight through to the engine.
Have you given any thought to what happens in the rain?
Perhaps some drain channels underneath to redirect any water to the side.
Then again, for $25 it doesn't really matter.
