Gen5 Need help with 5sfe wiring harness

Hey guys I'm looking for some insight on an issue I have with swapping out a 5sfe for another one in a 5th gen Celica. The main connector on the wiring harness is slightly different than the existing one in the car. The motor came out of a 91 Celica Liftback, and is going into a 93 Celica Liftback. I've had some suggestions saying that it has to do with the Electronic Fuel Injection, but I figured I'd ask you guys too. Any ideas? I'll grab some pics asap and get more details too.

Thanks in advance dudes.

Your 91 Celica 5S-FE is a Rev. 1 engine. The engine that came out of your 93 Celica was a Rev. 2 engine. Your Rev. 2 engine has a knock sensor on the block, which your wiring harness includes, but the Rev. 1 engine does not, so that alone would make the wiring harness different. The intakes between the engines are different (such as your cold start injection system on the 91, which is not on your 93).

Many who try to swap out engines from different Rev 5S-FE engines don't realize this problem until they start the process.

I would suggest you very carefully drill & tap your Rev. 1 block to reinstall the knock sensor from your Rev. 2 block. Then I would put on all the intake on your Rev. 1 engine from your Rev. 2, and do the same with the wiring harness.
