Question '95 Celica 2.0 GT. 3 down, 2 to go.

Hi all.

I've only this last couple of weeks been sorting out problems with my car that I've had for ages.

1.OS Wing - Knocked out and re-sprayed - £160 - Bargain - perfect job.

2.Gearbox crunch - Changed box oil for ATF - 150% improvement, no more crunching.

3.Knocking from rear - replaced anti-roll bushes - sorted.

My final couple of problems are :-

1. ( More noticeable at slow speed ) When I pull out of my driveway and brake, there is a slight CLUNK. If I continue in same direction and brake later on, all is OK. BUT when I reverse and then brake again - CLUNK. It only ever happens once each time after I brake after changing from forward to reverse and vice versa. It sound like this "PART" is moving forward and backwards with each braking. It's difficult to tell, but it sounds like it is happening at the front of the car, maybe right under the car. Hard to pinpoint where, as I have to move then brake to make it happen. Could this be some other type of bush which is worn? Anyone had a similar problem or can advise?

2.My electric ariel stops about half way going up - motor???

All help appreciated,

Cheers,

DJC.

maybe your brake pad clips fell off having the brakes move between the caliper walls.

1.- Check the gearbox and engine mounts. One or two may have gone bad already

2.- The aerial could be that the toothed cord inside could have broken so the motor is cannot raise it any further. Replace it
