gen 7 just reassuring things before i buy

ok i have just a few qestions before i make it a final thing on buying the 2000 celica... heres the facts i know....

it is a 2000 gts
has a TRD exhaust
TRD clutch(new)
2004 vvtl-i engine (40k miles on it)
the car is selling for $9300(tags titale and licence)
and has 93k isk mileage on it

things that i know the car has
ABS
Alarm
Alloy Wheels
Cassette Radio
CD Player
Cruise Control
Driver-Side Airbag
Leather Interior
Moon Roof
Power Locks
Power Mirrors
Rear Window Wiper
Remote Alarm Control
Side-Impact Airbags
Sun Roof
Tinted Glass

so is this a good deal or should i ask for a reduction in price? i dont want to spend more money then i have to but i do want the car.... is there anything else in 2000 model gt-s' that i should ahve concern for, liek breaking down or wearing out at that kind of milage?

aany and all replies will be greatly appreciated....

The only consistent thing I've seen on here for the 7th gen gts is the clutch going out rather early.

Since is has a newer engine, new clutch, and if the interior/extorior is in good shape from a dealer, $9300 isn't too bad I guess?

Makes you wonder how it was maintained though, if it needed a new engine already.

Look up the private party sale value of it on Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, NADA, etc., and average the value between these. Not sure how you would account for the different engine (as a plus, minus or neutral thing). But this would give you a good idea of value.

I agree.

Me personally when I buy a car in any kind it usually has to be complete stock. I don't like to buy or look into cars with a performance clutch already. The clutch will probably go out pretty soon..

it was not uncommon for people to ruin the engines in the early years making a mis-shift due to tight shift gates. the 6spd is common for synchro problems, with that many miles if its been driven hard then it probably has them or will very soon.

yeah its probably been driven very hard.

my guess would be the driver was trying to rev up to lift and mis-shifted into a lower gear.
