It certainly looks like the North American version of the 4A-FE 1.6L 1st Gen.

But, JDM (Japan Imports) tend to be the 5A-FE 1.5L 1st Gen. They are virtually identical and interchanable, but the JDM engines have a slightly lower displacement. If you bought this engine from a JDM importer, the paperwork should tell you what specific engine you have, right?

or you should be able to decode the vin if the whole car was imported, not just the engine.
