shave and a hair cut.. more then 2 bits.

im curently shaving the car!!!!

the List:
Side molding, GONE!
Rear spoiler, Geting Blended into the hatch.
Rear Badge's, GONE!
Rear center Brake Lite asembly. PRIMED black and soon red.

as i find things to smooth out i will do them.

right now im working on the driver side, (i found rust under the modling. so ive ben trying to get that sorted out.. sadly body filler is a bitch to use in a "spot repair" maner.. so iv had to sand alot more then i was planing on.

so its geting there, 3M Glazing pudy is the shit ! but im still going to have to REfill the side door to get it uber smooth and nice.

the paint on the car is SHIT, so im just using spray cans of Toyota Super Red II to make the car streetable.. until i can lay down a nice color.. im thinking a black or a deep hot rod purple.. or maby even a perl white.. ither way im just geting the body sorted right now..

i had to use fiberglass patch's on the hole's left from the molding... that stuff works realy well!! i was right at home using that stuff.

as for blending in the rear spoler. im thinking of just using filer to brige the gap.. and then laying down a fiberglass strip and then using glazing pudy to finish it off.

the right side door is looking prity good.. there wasent any rust or old body work/filler there.. so its now just a matter of some patch's and filler.

what i realy would like to find tho is the front hedlight kit for the car that converts the flip ups to supra style foward projecting lamps.

with luck i will have the left side door smoothed out and not looking like a hack job by the end of next week. (its going to take alot of glazing pudy.. and some more filler. but i think i can get it to work out. the rear spoiler job will go well since i have a realy good idea of what im geting into now. i might even think of extending the spoiler with fiberglass not shure tho..

Good job. I'm learning alot from you, man. Sorry about the rust. I hate doing body work, too. You mentioned that you are using spray paint from Toyota, did you say? I've got Super Red II, myself, and I'm always on the lookout for cheaper ways of taking care of my paint problems. How much was that paint, and is it any better than that Duplicolor crap? I mean does it go on smooth, and look original, or would I be flushing $$ down the toilet? I'm still awaiting an insurance check from being rear-ended, but I want to keep her from looking like junk for now.

Car sounds interesteing dude, got any pics handy? I'm always keen for ideas.

Incidentally when i resprayed my celica i got the paint made up at a paint store, much cheaper than toyota etc. They have all the formulas for major manufacturers, cost $85 per litre (Aussie)
