Power windows stopped working

I was in the process of replacing the power antenna on a 1999 Celica when my power windows and moonroof stopped working. They are on the same fuse - replaced that and nothing happened. I disconnected all the wires to the new power antenna and capped them off - still nothing. Hard to believe that this was a coincidence but I don't understand how the power antenna wires could affect the windows. All other electrical items seem to be working. Only thing I can imagine is that in the power antenna connector, which I cut off, some of the wires may have been ganged together. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As I thought, the power windows wire connects to the (12v - key on) wire in the power antenna wiring harness. I don't know why Toyota does it this way but after I connected the wires together, the power windows work perfectly.

The reason the windows and the antenna are on 1 system is because of the delay system that is on our cars, have you ever noticed when you turn the car off you still have about 2min for time to roll the windows up and down as long as you dont open a door, that requires the on position wiring.

How does this provide for the delay? When I 'fixed' the problem I just hardwired the two wires together and I assume that the windows delay was within the windows motor. I contemplated hardwiring the 12v always present to the windows control to allow moving the windows at all times. Is there any disadvantage to this?

If the widows dont recognize the car in the on position then i cant know when the car is not in the on position. Yes a drained battery every morning.
